Been quite a while since the last time I cooked something. Ya... I am so lazy...

Cooked something simple yet nutritious for dinner.

Steamed chicken with fermented salted black beans. Ingredients used are black beans, garlic, some seasoning. Marinate chicken with seasoning then steam it with high heat. Easy right. Taste pretty good. I marinated the chicken overnight.

Stir fried cabbage with anchovies and some meatballs.

Herbal chicken soup which I cooked using programmable rice cooker. So convenient.

The cooking of this dishes didn't mess up my kitchen except the stir fried cabbage which left my kitchen oily.

We are out to hunt for chicken porridge which is recommended by a friend of us. The first thing we did is order the porridge when we reach as we are very hungry and neglecting to see the stall is yet to open for business.

The owner answer us in a 'not so good' manner that the porridge is not ready yet.
But I am so lucky that the famous curry ccf is still open. The porridge stall is just next to the ccf stall. I thought the stall only operate from noon till evening. When we place the order, the stall owner told us that the chicken is finish, only left potato. As our stomach is crying for food and I've been wanting to taste this curry chee cheong fun, we order it still.

Even without the chicken, the curry ccf taste good. But if more curry is served, then it'd be better. Hehe...
Even though the chicken had finished, on and off there are customers buying the ccf still.

Even after we finished our ccf, seems like there's not any sign of opening of the porridge stall. We heard the owner told one customer that, when the light is on, then only the stall is open for business. When it's about 8.30pm, the light is on.

Without any delay, we order 2 bowls of chicken porridge. We added fish fillet into our porridge. The porridge texture is not as smooth as the one I ate in HK. But the taste is good.

There are some fresh lettuce, yau char kuai, shredded ginger in the porridge. A hint of sesame oil in the porridge - the way I always like my porridge to taste like. Chunks of chicken and fish fillet can be found in the porridge.

Overall the porridge taste good but the owner's manner is not so good. Even when she served us the porridge, we do not feel any kindness in it. :-p

p/s: We saw that some customer order a plate of chicken separately. I would like to try this on my next visit. But need to consider for revisit or not due to the unkindness of the owner.

Yea. You read it correctly. It's a loh mai kai in a pau which they called it 'kai wo pau (鸡窝包)'. This one was featured in A Taste with Jason program.

This shop is located near IMU - International Medical University @ Sri Petaling. But it wasn't my luck as I went there twice, both around 12pm but this pau has been sold out. But along the street there are a few dim sum restaurants selling this type of pau. As that was the last day I were at KL, it left no choice for me but to buy from another restaurant instead of the one recommended by Axian (Jason).

This is how it look like on top. See the hole on top of the pau, there you can find mushroom and salted egg yolk which is not a usual ingredient in a normal loh mai kai. At the bottom, it looks like the below. Inside there are normal ingredients we can find in loh mai kai. It tasted good. The glutinuous rice is soft with some 'juice' from the chicken and char siew. Yummy.

This restaurant is open for breakfast and also dinner time. The 鸡窝包 is sold in the morning and night as well. I should have cut this pau into half and snap a picture before I eat it. But I only thought of it when I'm almost finish with the pau. Aiyo...

Our last stop at Macau before we fly back to KL.

We ordered Pork Chop Bun (Chu Pa Pau) and Wantan soup as appetizer. Afterall, Macau is famous for it's pork chop bun rite? I don't really like the pork chop bun. The bread is too hard and tasted too plain. Basically it's a french loaf with a piece of pork chop in the middle of it. The pork chop only tasted salty to me. There's bone in the pork chop. So weird leh... Shouldn't it be boneless?


Wantan soup. This is good. Big piece of fresh shrimps can be found inside the wantan. Forget the name. But it's something like shrimp paste mee. See the powder like thing on top of the mee. It's actually powdered shrimp I guess as a very heavy taste of shrimp when you taste it. I don't like this. :-p
Mace Ball noodles. The mace ball is springly but taste slightly fishy for me. I'm quite sensitive to fishy smell.
Dumplings noodle. Taste not bad.
Spicy and sour mee. This one taste good. Spicy and sour soup with some minced meat in it.
This shop is pretty famous in Macau.
